Another animation to replace the still image in the previous post (#4218). I still can't see why the seller sold this as AU.
$110.00 from an eBay seller, on Jan 5, 2017. (Plus $5.60 shipping!) The price is not artificially skewed by being a long-ago purchase; it's this year.
A few newps. Also bidding on a few really nice toners as well for my Lincoln set. Have been trying to just buy specifically ms66s,but have to settle for a really nice 65 sometimes . More on the way soon
I was going to post the seller's photo, but thought better of it. Suffice it to say it tried to show some color, but nobody on eBay bid on it except me. I was lucky on this one.
I've posted these S-mint Lincolns in the order I re-photographed them. The 1913-S and 1912-S were raw, so they were easier and were done first. Here are the bracketing S dates: 1911-S and 1914-S, and also 1915-S. The 1911-S is MS63 BN in an OGH, and the 1914-S is MS 62 BN in an ANACS holder. (The 1915-S is raw.) The animation helps me see through all the scratches and marks on the slabs. The odd thing is I don't really care about slabs. Almost all of my cents are ungraded. I happen to think these grades are too conservative, and would grade at as high or higher than they are now. I don't know what holds me back from just breaking them out. Then I could get better photos without the holders in the way, and put them in 2x2 plastic to fit in the trays with the rest of the series. What to do, what to do...
Thanks. I've been frustrated by how hard it is to represent luster in a still image. I'm still learning yet I have some results that I like.
I never thought to post this. I got at the US Mint in Philadelphia many years ago. The temperature never changes.
Some of the newps ive been picking up recently. Solely buying wheat toners at the moment. All will be going for new slabs and trueviews
I don't want to rinse this one because I don't know what I will find under the dirt on the back. Too bright would be as bad as too dirty. There is plenty to appreciate the way it is, fortunately.
