By far not the prettiest 1924D but it's still worth almost 1500 times what I paid for it ( less inflation, devaluation of the dollar etc. etc.) hehehe!!!
Another iPhone shot. I am using Camera+ on the phone. I got a piece of gray photo paper from my wife (an artist) and used that to determine the white balance before I shot. The black foam is just a 2x2 insert and rests on the gray card. It lets me set the exposure based on an area of the gray card, rather than on the reflective and very red coin. It also ensures good white balance. I set the exposure to -0.5 eV which takes in less light and reduces the intensity of the highlights. Then I cropped the gray card and other extraneous parts of the image away.
I feel like I am the curator of this set I bought, which was assembled by an unknown predecessor. So as the custodian, it seems right to share the original collector's work as best I can. It seems like his efforts should be appreciated by more than just me.
I am doing my best to get the in-hand color. I am showing the entire holder on this one so you can see how they look in the display trays.
same here I've bid on them when they have come up for auction on Heritage went to high for me couple on eBay right now but wrong timing for me plus fakes and all don't really know all about them HA had documents They are sweet would make nice addition a Lincoln coin series
I have always loved copper Lincoln's...I don't think the design is particularly attractive or unusual, I started collecting them because they were the least expensive for me to acquire and I guess it just stuck haha
Here are a few Lincolns trying to better my photography with little or no photoshop! I believe in the real eye look of the coin instead of using alot of photoshop to make the coin better than what it really is!
Came across another oldie in pretty good shape. Not much luck looking for errors on this coin DDO,RPM but the numeral 2 is slanted is this common?
