I became a "collector" with these two - meaning these were the first coins I actually bought - some time in the early 70s. P1010235.JPG P1010238.JPG

Todd at BluCC Photos just photographed this '57 Proof for me. I bought this raw for $12 off eBay and had it graded at PCGS a few weeks ago.

Tough is right, especially in that condition. More so than a 1909 S VDB or a 1914 D in my experience. Nice pickup!

I bought this as an NGC PR68 RB and it crossed to a PCGS PR66 RB. I was initially surprised this dropped 2 grades in the cross. I was thinking PCGS would give it a PR67 since a 1 grade drop is pretty standard when crossing copper from NGC to PCGS. However, in spite of my wish for a PR67, I do have to admit I think PR66 is about right with the tiny spotting. It's amazing how much more lax NGC is with copper.

Nice coin winged. I'll guess that coin might not have had the small spots when NGC graded it. If you are sending your NGC coins to PCGS in the holder, they'll hammer you for that most every time. If you crack them out first and make them judge the coins without the NGC chip on their shoulder I think you would get better results. JMO Matt

Here's an easy one, 65RB. PCGS price guide says it's worth one dollar. Crap...I way overpaid.

Nothing special, but I suppose for $15 it was hard for me to pass up.
