yes sir you read that correctly. sorry i havn't any slabbed coins, all my coins are wild finds. Also i found a regular 1909 great condition aswell
also the roll i got the 1909 from was from an estate sale here in my home town of palm springs CA. Great place to find antiques and collectables seeing that this place is a retirement city, and yes for all those other comments along with other spot this place is for lol.
Thanks for posting these, Thad. I had been putting together a year set of early Lincolns, and had gotten from 1909 up to about 1936. (Still missing '22.) I went to the LCS and he had a sad-looking Dansco 8100 with everything in it from 1934 to 1991. (The earlier stuff had been cherry-picked out.) The collector filled in the empty holes with 15 extra proofs 1957-1972S. This set obviously would not appeal to everyone, and I think it had been there for a while. But for me it dovetailed perfectly with my year set. So I offered to swap some ASE's for it, we agreed on 14 of them, and the set is now mine. The original collector really put together a nice set. Now it's tough acquiring 185 beautiful ungraded red cents all at once and appreciating them. (OK, not that tough.) Your pictures are perfect for me. I can look at these posts, look at my own example, compare and contrast. It's helping me appreciate just how fine this set is. This is educating me on coins I never thought I would collect - I mean they were pocket change when I was a kid! Here's one example of the extra 1959 proof, since everyone likes pictures! I took a quick reverse pic in the Dansco.
Cool story Don! Start posting your business issue Memorial cents, I'd really like to see what everyone else has, especially the 1982 to 1989 year Zincolns.
I closely compared my Zincolns to yours, and I think the collector had a good eye for them. I will try to post one soon.
