Hello, new to the forum. Bought a 1909 vdb from ebay. I normally don't buy many raw coins but this one was cheap and thought I would take a chance. It is for my personal collection so not worried about reselling. My question is: Has this coin been cleaned? My guess is that it has 1) price, 2) appearance. However I would appreciate some honest learned opinions. Sorry I have not learned how to post a photo on the forum so all I can offer is this ebay link. Thanks in advance. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-VDB-Li...uhomMc4b84wBI%2BE0DdE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Not Unc maybe Au 55/58 cleaning well only coin know that unless you can see polish lines dipped maybe. My2c
I would go 50/53. I don't think it has been cleaned as ion dipped or whizzed, but I am guessing someone has popped some grime from around the wheats.
Unreal, for sure I'd call that a 65....PCGS and their stupid luster requirement. That coin is about as good as a BN coin comes!
"Unreal, for sure I'd call that a 65....PCGS and their stupid luster requirement. That coin is about as good as a BN coin comes!" I assume the spot of the reverse at 5 O'clock killed it.
1930 Lincoln Cent (PCGS MS66BN). A rare grade in the Brown color class, esp in this era. This is a mystery coin that somebody sent to me as a free gift sometime in May. Unfortunately, I didn't write it down in my coin log. Now, I don't know who to thank! I need more free gifts like this. It was thrown into a larger order I made for other coins (paid) and this was included along with some other raw "gift" coins. I think I remember the seller writing "enjoy these bonus coins" or something like that. This one looked so nice I thought I would send it into PCGS. Last week I got the good news about the grade. Showing my 1913 S, I don't think it looks bad at all. It's actually a chocolate brown color. The light helps with the detail but not the color. Not graded but I would give it a MS 63 Brown. Other opinions are appreciated.
