Huge shoutout to @WingedLiberty for making this neat template for my VDB set. And to Bob for imaging these! Still need 3 more and I'm thinking they need some color..

Working on my grading skills. Just recently got this 1912 S too. I'm thinking at least an AU 55. What do you think?

Sorry, but I would go 45 and cleaned (unless it is just your picture).

Thanks for the reply, the hair isn't as detailed as the 1913 D above this post but the wheat lines look better so that's how I came up with a 55. My 1st guess was a 53 though until I started comparing pics. It is starting to tone, don't really show in the pictures, kind of a light blue/purple color depending how you hold it to the light. Would that be a indicator of it being cleaned? It might be my picture, I don't see any indication of being cleaned unless it was dipped. Still learning :)

The even shine (not luster) of the coin is what indicates cleaning. The blue color may indicate someone used MS70 on it, but it is usually a more obvious blue.

BTW, the sharpness of the wheat lines is more an indication of strike than grade at this level. You have wear on temple and his beard is worn flat. That is too much wear for AU.

Love the strike on this one. More detail in Lincoln's hair than I've ever seen.
