I liked the color on this one a lot. I found it at a local show today. The amount of detail they worked into the teen-Lincolns is so gorgeous.
What kind of Camara and lighting do you use for your picture taking? Thank you and beautiful Lincoln Cent.
I use a Canon SD1400IS Point and Shoot mounted on a copy stand. I set the camera to timer mode to avoid hand-shake, and I use the Macro setting (the little Tulip icon). For lighting I use three small LED gooseneck lights from IKEA. I position the lights high right next to the camera and as high as possible without the camera causing a shadow. This high lighting means less shadows from the devices than side-lighting. You can see the lamps I use at this link: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20169658/ I hope that helps! And thanks for the comment on my new cent. I couldn't pass it up for $15. It has beautiful unadultered surfaces and great colors. Even with the couple carbon spots on the reverse, it still caught my eye. EDIT (added later): If you're curious, I use a free-ware image editing software called GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). It allows for editing almost the same as very expensive software like Adobe Photoshop. In the past, I used Adobe Photoshop CS4 (and I still have a copy), but I've been using more open-source freeware lately. -Brandon
The little one is a 9mm 14k gold Lincoln (an $8 value!) I got in 1983 from the International Mint to commemorate that end of the copper cent in 1982. (Forgive the photo quality, today is my first day shooting coins.)
I found a 1939 that is almost the same colors as a 39-D I have....I was thrilled to finally found a matching coin! These plum colored Lincolns are tough without major marks and distractions.
Here are 3 Lincoln Cents- 40P, 41P, 42P - Should get graded? Hi- Here are some more of my learn while I go pictures- Here are 3 Lincoln Cents- 40P, 41P, 42P - Should get graded? All comments welcomed please! JS 1940 P Lincoln 1941 P Lincoln 1942 P Lincoln
Here's another really tough one. I've been looking for a full red in nice shape for 8 years. This is a PCGS, CAC 64RB. Lance.
Now there is a rough one to get - and it is even another nice strike. Abe even has some beard on a 26-S!
That 1931-S is a jaw dropper. I can't think of words to say about that wheatie. Thank you Lance for sharing that cent with us. zeke
