Very nice. Seems a very nice lifetime denarius w/ some honest wear. Also clear legends. Given the inordinately high prices right now for ultra-high end JC's, this is probably a much better buy. I wanted to upgrade my JC bronze As, but a nice one recently sold for 28K -- or was it 38K? Out of Heritage.
I tried bidding on Heritage, but the buying pressure is too high right now. I got this one for a fair price. 1700 out the door. I did some research on sold for on ebay and Heritage and although some slip through at better prices most are higher than what I paid for a similar coin. Slabbed seems to add 250 usd give or take.
This is a nice and interesting coin - a pre reform denarius, I presume? They are scarcer than the post reform ones.
A barbarous radiate (Postumus / Tetricus) of a soldier standing with spear and shield. Not the greatest beauty or high value, yet the extreme simplicity of the soldier on this one is what triggered me in buying it as a gimmick.
