Another proto-knight, this Syracuse - Hieron II horseman carries a long lance and wears what appears to be protective (leather with straps over the shoulders?) clothing.

There are a plethora of Russian coins depicting a knight on horseback. Look on the reverse at the center of the shield. Saint George slaying the dragon is the Coat of arms of Moscow.

Not all of them are "knight-like" but many are.

Not a knight but it is a beautiful coin IMO. I bought it at the Philadelphia ANA in 2012.
