Well maybe Ed !! But I know for about 8 years it was on my desk. I have thrown it at a few folk's Some GI & Staff did get me that mad!!!!
I,ve noticed several of these 80,s proofs turning nicely toned lately...I think enough time has passed for many more of these to tone and will soon be a popular new trend in Kennedys.
No, only the San Francisco (S) uncirculated and proof issues are 40% silver. These are the P and D issues (copper-nickel clad)
I have 66,s that have good eye appeal, but would love a pair of nice 67,s...Maybe in the next life. I believe the few 67,s which exist must have come from mint sets as the entire run was shipped from the mint in bags, and then rolled by fed.reserve banks for distribution. Can anyone verify this? By the way, I checked my math and instead of a one in a million chance to find a 67, I came up with new accurate figures [I was guessing 1 in 1,000,000]....of the 1976-p, a mintage of 240,000,000, about 15 coins exist in 67, a 1 in 16,000,000 chance of finding one. As for the 1976-d, about 50 coins exist, for a 1 in 6,000,000 chance. I,ve been told that all 1976 Kennedys are baggy, weak strikes, even the few 67,s aint that nice. The couple of 67,s I,ve seen for sale aren,t much nicer than a nice 66 grade. Any comments?
