Generally speaking, one mint will have better quality coins than the other. This could flip flop between years as well where, I recall one year Denver had the good stuff while Philadelphia had the retired coin toss halfs!
SMS/MS-69 or SMS/MS-68 2005 P+D is one more I will add asap@ a fair price. that will be a Key date I think as there the 1st SMS/ Satin Finished Kennedy's Minted. 2010 Mint sets were the End of SMS sets the mint change the striking finish to match the what minted for Circulation so dies are not mixed up.
Ex Richard Green PCGS MS70....It was graded long before they started using SP grades. New images taken yesterday. Mark on chin is a deep cut in the slab that just won't polish out.
1964-D Kennedy DDO FS-106 MS65 PCGS, Pop 3/0! I upgraded my MS61 PCGS to this MS65. This is the photo from CoinFacts which is my coin. Pretty blue-green obverse with some pinkish-gold accents, rim-toned silver reverse. http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/390316 Enjoy! Best Regards, :hail: George
Thank you John! I have been collecting Kennedy halves since, well, they made their debut. I was in junior high in Dallas when he was shot and always admired him greatly. I like the coins too although I am partial to the silver ones. Some of the clad pieces can get marvelous toning too, but they're still, well, clad. PS I too have a complete Dansco album with hand-selected Proof and Mint State coins; for a lot of them I busted up the respective sets for the coins and dumped the swillage. Best Regards, :hail: George
You've got a few years on me. I was born in 63, but I remember my mother's vivid recollections of the assassination years later. Out of curiosity, what did that 64 MS65 set you back for? Or is it rude to ask?
