I found two coins this year at Fun. This Dime came from a good friend that takes some of the best images I have ever seen. I'll have images of the second coin sometime soon.

No, I got cold feet. My mind was set on an AU something. Found several really nice coins and got lost trying to understand all the different varieties. Had to back away and learn more. Maybe next year.

The 1839 Half Dollar from @Publius2 and the Hawaii Commem from @C-B-D are both very nice coins for the MS 62 grade. Is there anything that either of those coins have (that doesn't show up on the photos) that relegated them to 62?

My head spins from all the info. Since this stupid tumor it is hard to retain the info so I ask stupid questions and take a ton of notes. I also have a backpack on wheels full of coins I try to go through but end up seeing double way to fast now so dont trust self. I need someone close to me to help and split any profits we may get

Smart decision....take your time, do more research. I waited 4+ years to get my 1923-D and am glad I waited.

Sometimes NOT buying is the smartest decision we can make. :D

Thanks, and a ThumbsUp to all my CT guys for helping educate me over the years and for helping me out at FUN (PhysicsFan helped me find dealers after I was shut out on Day 1 and somehow didn't find one quality Saint dealer).

    I actually didn't spend $1 on that 1st Thursday of FUN !! :D

DISNEY DOLLARS: Hey, the FUN show was in Orlando right next to DisneyWorld so how could I resist ?:D

The 1971 note is coming up on 50 years of DisneyWorld so I thought this was a nice piece of Disney memorabilia.

The more recent Disney Dollar with Ariel I got for my niece as a present if I can't find an affordable graded one. Got discounts on both of these which helped (I bought them on Sunday with the show closing in a few hours).

dddd asked if there was anything about the 1839 Bust Half I posted that would make it a 62. If you blow up the photo you will see a number of scrapes in the fields and some small dings and scratches. It has nice luster and some very light yellow toning with a patch of blue on the obverse at K12. Overall a nice looking coin especially in hand but it is a 62 although I guess with current market grading it might go to a 63.

Thanks for the kind comments on this and the 1795 half. I like it too, especially when it has a provenance.

    Wait....you consider it a 62, right, though it's an AU58 CAC ?

I had mine pegged as a 63, but when I got a 62, I figured it must be an easy CAC coin. And I was right.

If by "...made out like bandits" you mean "hung from a tree by the roadside and stripped of all valuables", then yes, I made out like a bandit, but a happy one!

The coin I was talking about was a 62 and it sounds like @Publius2 agrees with the grade at 62.

    He's talking about the 62 '39 Half, not the 58 '35 dime.
