Did you get a dollar?
No, I got cold feet. My mind was set on an AU something. Found several really nice coins and got lost trying to understand all the different varieties. Had to back away and learn more. Maybe next year.
@Publius2 and the Hawaii Commem from @C-B-D are both very nice coins for the MS 62 grade. Is there anything that either of those coins have (that doesn't show up on the photos) that relegated them to 62?
@GoldFinger1969 and others: congrats on all the nice purchases!
My head spins from all the info. Since this stupid tumor it is hard to retain the info so I ask stupid questions and take a ton of notes. I also have a backpack on wheels full of coins I try to go through but end up seeing double way to fast now so dont trust self. I need someone close to me to help and split any profits we may get
Smart decision....take your time, do more research. I waited 4+ years to get my 1923-D and am glad I waited.
Sometimes NOT buying is the smartest decision we can make.
Thanks, and a ThumbsUp to all my CT guys for helping educate me over the years and for helping me out at FUN (PhysicsFan helped me find dealers after I was shut out on Day 1 and somehow didn't find one quality Saint dealer).
I actually didn't spend $1 on that 1st Thursday of FUN !!
DISNEY DOLLARS: Hey, the FUN show was in Orlando right next to DisneyWorld so how could I resist ?
The 1971 note is coming up on 50 years of DisneyWorld so I thought this was a nice piece of Disney memorabilia.
The more recent Disney Dollar with Ariel I got for my niece as a present if I can't find an affordable graded one. Got discounts on both of these which helped (I bought them on Sunday with the show closing in a few hours).
Thanks for the kind comments on this and the 1795 half. I like it too, especially when it has a provenance.
Wait....you consider it a 62, right, though it's an AU58 CAC ?
I had mine pegged as a 63, but when I got a 62, I figured it must be an easy CAC coin. And I was right.
Hey, the folks I talked to and gave $$$ to made out like bandits. !!
I left NY with a money bag full of money. I returned with a money bag full of Disney Dollars and Orlando-area coupons for next January.
The coin I was talking about was a 62 and it sounds like @Publius2 agrees with the grade at 62.
He's talking about the 62 '39 Half, not the 58 '35 dime.
