Busy week for me in buying. Got this tone monster today at market value--no premium for the amazing tone, and a key Franklin:

I've always loved Franklins and I think they're hugely under appreciated. I wouldn't be surprised to see the price of these go way up in the next few years

These are all of my Franklin Half-Dollars, the 1963-D being the nicest by far!

Nice PR 67 with some cameo that joined the family. In an OGH!

I have to say that CT members post the nicest coin photos around. I am envious. Do any of you use tools like digital microscopes or just macro settings on your digital cameras? My Canon 6 MP digital camera using a tripod and macro setting produces nothing like I am seeing here. Congrats!

I use a Nikon D 5100 body, with an 18-55 lens, and the macro setting. The Nikon 5100 is 14 megapixels. I have a decent tripod, and use backlighting.

I think you need an intervention. You seem to be on a Franklin bender. It's time you come back from the dark side.

You should be able to get decent pics with that. Although a 12MP compared to a 6mp is basically twice as nice. So maybe time for new camera? They are not too much,.

An inexpensive one, but snagged it for tone ($50 on E bay). 1963 PR 65 NGC

Okay, I stopped my buying spree with this one. The key to the Franklin series!
