My Dansco Franklin set had a 1959 Proof in it. So I decided to get it graded for my NGC Franklin regristry set. Been watching for a decent 1959-P Unc to replace it for about 3 months. Finally snagged this one for $9.50 on eBay last weekend. Recently Graded Proof
Not really but most folks would likely give ya 125-135.00 due wear CU/BU 150.00+ Just depends on grade. Ebay it see what happens.?
Beautiful coin. I always admired the man for his great for- thought but also For (" Hey when in Rome")
I bought this one raw (the set was in a capitol plastic holder and also had a screamer Washie and Roosie). I sent this in to PCGS and was surprised that it did not cameo. It came back PR66. The image is true to how the coin looks.
Needless to say, I was saying various four letter words when it didn't come back Cameo. The only thing that I can think of as to why it didn't cameo was the cheek/jowl/neck area although even there it sure looks cameo to me.
A nice 1953-D I've been looking for, I love the bell lines. They don't show as well in my photos but in hand they're great. A nice present in my mailbox today...
I got another '59 Proof in the mail today. The black dot above the "N" is on the Mint cellophane since it does not move when you move the coin slightly arround in the cello. In hand it looks Cameo to me, hard to photo thru the cello. A low price snag on eBay.
1959-D and 1962 proof Franklins. I've posted a pic of the '62 here before but I took some fresh photos of it out of its protector. A coworker at the old store found the '59 at work and sold it to me for $5. Not a bad deal at all. The '62 is an ebay purchase and I gave $15 for it shipped. Not quite as good of a deal but I feel it was worth it. What do you experts think they would grade? I'm guessing the '59 would be a VF but I have no idea about the '62. I don't think the '62 is a came, but I'm no expert.
