It's hard to believe, but 2017 is almost entirely in the rear view mirror. Post your favorite coin purchase of the year. Here's mine, a (PCGS) VF30 Flowing Hair $1.
This one’s probably my favorite because it closed out my large diameter capped bust quarter date set (or at least until I blow my money on an 1824).
Well first off @Skyman beautiful coin! My favorite purchase of 2017 happens to be from the same year but waaaayyyyy lower grade. 1795 Liberty Cap 1c. Plain edge
I have a few favorite purchases for 2017....here's two that I had to have, what's funny is both purchased the same show from the same dealer.
I added only very few US coins to my collection in 2017, but this is certainly my favorite: an 1802 Draped Bust cent, variety S-238. S-238 is the scarcest variety of the 1802 cents (besides the NC's), and this one is certainly within the top 4 best known examples. Found in Europe.
Bought this one for $55. Sold it for $2500! (Couldn't keep it. My business needed a shot in the arm). Pure dumb luck, though. Thought I was buying a 1882-O and it turned out to be an 1882-CC, which is worth HUGE money in GSA softpacks. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/gsa-1882-cc-softpack-how-rare-is-it.300407/
