I just did a search on Heritage for "Liberty Nickel off center" and came up with these results: http://www.ha.com/common/search_res...el off center&Nty=1&N=790+231+51&chkNotSold=0 I did not buy my off center nickels from Heritage but there have been several nice ones sold there.
Yup Got it from another member. It is on the Guess the grade thread I posted earlier: http://www.cointalk.com/t202141/
Here is my fav.....kind of a white elephant, but I liked the woodgrain on it too much not to purchase. It is in a scratched up PCGS MS60BN holder labeled "Mint Error - 2% clipped planchet" I am yet to see another.....but I bet there are some out there.
Hey red, is that the clip on the obverse at 11:00? I'm not quite seeing it, might wanna break out some plastic polish, a drill, and a smooth rag
Here's a key date buff 1918-S with a cud and lamination on the obverse. It's subtle but still counts.
I had shown this many times before, so I was reluctant to show it again when this thread first started, but for the benefit of some of the newer members, here it is again. It's a 2001-D Kennedy missing the reverse clad layer. I found it in a $100 Mixed P&D bag that I ordered from the Mint in 2004 (cost: 68c). It's one of only two known to exist for the date/mm and the other sold raw on eBay for $555 in 2005. I submitted mine to NGC in 2004 and it graded MS64 (the obverse is immaterial). NOTE: It was reholdered by NGC in 2010 because the coin was cocked in the original slab, but I've procrastinated taking new photos. Chris
