Gotta make you wonder. How about an overstuck Corona piece. On an Ike? Maybe Susan B. Mint state 75' quarter? A new statement of 2020? I think this is the only thread that would allow such controversy @C-B-D
I don't think I posted this here before. Hobo tokens for OHNS. "Obverse taken from a modern vintage-style carved “hobo” nickel. reverse was designed by Daniel Carr. The dies were done by Daniel Carr/Moonlight Mint."
And another one for the OHNS The obverse designer was Larry Foster. The reverse bison was designed by Daniel Carr. The dies were done by Daniel Carr/Moonlight Mint.
Note, I will be selling 49 of my Daniel Carr issues, as my wife needs expensive dental work not completely covered by insurance. See pics in the “For Sale” forum, or message me privately.
LOL at the triple-D 1942 nickel (mint marks on obverse, above dome on reverse, and at right of Monticello). Although, if it had been me, I might have been tempted to put S on the obverse and P right of Monticello, just to mix things up. And looking at his side-facing/front-facing overstrikes, I really, really wish he could do a 2020 with Jefferson rolling his eyes. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
I must admit I checked out the new items and didn't see anything that I had to have. As far as the 3 "D" Jefferson maybe he should have used all 3 mint marks. P on the overse, keep the D where it is and an S next to Monticello. Oh well maybe the next batch I'll find something.
Well, I finally got through all 81 pages of this thread and boy, what an education - a worthy education nonetheless. Please tell me that I don't have to review the 121 pages of posts on the "other" site. I may not live that long . . . . . BY THE WAY: Let me be the first to wish @dcarr a Happy Birthday this coming Saturday! Happy 62nd Dan! My 62nd was earlier this year in March . . . . . . Well, I was hoping to contribute SOMETHING to this thread with a few acquisitions that I have coming in, but my excitement has been tempered somewhat as EVERYTHING that I found to acquire seems to have been already posted . . . . . Well, to be truthful, ALMOST everything that I found has been posted . . . There just might be one item that I haven't seen posted yet, maybe more than one, but I will wait until they arrive . . . . . Don't know if any of you want to see the other(s) as I get them or not. I am truely humbled to be in the presence of such noble and esteemed collectors of Dan Carr's creations. I only hope that I am worthy to be counted as one . . . . . Zoid
That was quite the task @ZoidMeister ....and of course you should post yours (if you want) as we would be happy to see them!
I'll post one of mine that I don't think is on this thread (and unlike @ZoidMeister I won't check all 81 pages ).
Checking my online tracking, as of this posting . . . . . one item is on it's way from Colorado, expected delivery tomorrow . . . HOLY CRAP, one item says it's out for delivery to me TODAY . . . . . one item coming in from New England, arriving on Tuesday . . . . the FINAL item, arriving Saturday . . . . . Z
