There are places just not on this site. The "Chums" will always derail every thread about DC anything. It seems you will always be irritated by people posting their purchases and feel the need to be-little them with thread bombs. All this amounts to a total lack of respect to the people who collect them.
I think it's beautiful. It has value in my castle and I don't care what anybody else thinks. Ostracize me, hit the ignore button, do what you like. I do......
Probably around 60-70. We sold 20 sets from the class and each student got 5 if I remember right and Dan may have gotten a few extra.
I assume you're talking about the Summer Seminar class? Did you strike them or Dan or were they struck on the ANA Museum screw press?
I like that, too. Do you have a pic of the other side? I think the style is primitive but cool. Not his best work, but a great piece.
I consider it a friendly thread and 100% honest, as I consider it a true work of art, all in his hand and intellectual ability. As he himself said "The two aspects of my "1964-D" Peace Dollar over-strikes that I do claim IPR on are the exact size, style, and placement of the "64" digits in the date and the exact re-punching of the "D" mint mark." One date and one letter.
So I guess it's okay to still take pot shots at the overstrikes, even a mod is doing it. You could have just said you liked it and would buy one yourself.
Now that you mention the ASE, I doubt you'll ever see many of these: http://www.moonlightmint.com/dc-coin_event_tokens_list.htm
