He's an artist. They live by their own rules. That said, we all know shipping times can be long on occasion, as well as very quickly too. And on the emails thing, he is one of the most open and accessible guys out there for what he does. He's a one man band and gets very busy at times. He usually responds to emails within a couple of days but occasionally it can be a week or two if he's super busy or sick or creating the next offering. Considering nobody has received shipping notices yet for the clashed PL and emails are going unanswered he must be in creative or production mode. We all know the stereotype of an artist locking themselves away for days or weeks until their masterpiece is done, why would we assume or expect that Dan is any different.

Yes, he is an artist, but he is also a business man. All businesses should have good customer service though, don't you agree ?
He has great customer service. It can just take a little while to ship stuff out or respond to questions when he's in production mode or creating a new product. Nothing new, nothing wrong with that.
Since you're so close to him, Cascade, why don't you ask him to answer customer emails? You know... throw the little people a bone.
Not my place and he usually doesn't respond to my emails when he's busy like this either. If you don't like it or can't wait, don't buy from him. Or just don't email him. Sheesh.

Take it easy. Take it easy, lol. I'm just saying you're always so quick to defend him and you claim to know him and the DC market better than most people. Why do you feel the need to defend him so badly? If he's bad at customer service then he's just bad at it. You don't have to scratch and claw to defend him when clearly he could do better.
I do clarinet overhauls, and I'm terrible at keeping to my time table. There are just a lot of things going on especially when you're going to school at the same time. Customer service is important, but sometimes other stuff gets in the way, which does suck, but at least that means that the final product isn't rushed out and has the potential to be higher quality due to a greater amount of work put into it.
It's actually nice to hear that he has upgraded to shipping notifications, but either way I wouldn't care as I don't with items I purchase off of eBay .
I understand everyone wants everything yesterday in the mail order game, but unless you are trying to flip it the same week then really what is the big deal ??
Your stuff will arrive and if it doesn't then I'm sure PP, CC company or Dan will have it protected .
The day you all stop sitting by your mailbox tapping your foot and gnashing your teeth is the day it will arrive
In regards to emails well I can only imagine all of the requests , hate mail, inquiries and such he gets .
As Doc would say " the strain would be more than I could bare" Lol
I live on the opposite coast and have never met Dan in person, so don't think we are like neighbors or I'm his weekend buddy .

Oh god, I don't even want to know. With the amount of hate just on this forum, I can't imagine the amount of hate mail he gets on a daily basis. Nobody deserves that kind of treatment...

I know what to expect ordering from Dan, I like a lot of his products. Just could do better on the business end. If he needs to hire some help, then he should.
