What's the "baseline" condition of this set? XF? Or did you just fill it with the best examples you could find?
Well, there's this: 50-coin Classic Commem type set I'm also in the Franklin Dansco club. This makes a great YN set.
Love the coins, but those last few make me wonder if they know that there is a coin collector out there somewhere just waiting on them to pass.
Dwhiz: That short set is one that I may do one of these days. Love it! What's the most difficult dates/mint marks?
Interesting that there's a Dansco just for the WL short set. Here's where I'd get a blank album and fill it with business strike halves 1941-1970, then add the proofs (and SMS) 1955-70. If I'm counting correctly, that's 79 coins, 4 pages, one port left for 64 accented hair, both 56 proofs, or some other variety of your choosing. Would be a pretty cool album.
I started this as an AU set, which most of the coins are. I did find it difficult to find some of them in AU, that I liked, so I bought some better ones. They all raw no crack outs. All in all an easy set to build.
This is my #3 Franklin collection. The reason I'm posting this one is because of the interesting Library of Coins album I came across a few years ago. You'll get it by page 4.
My early Jefferson and Liberty V Nickel collections. Still working on Buffalo and modern Jeffersons. View attachment 523894
My Roosevelt dime silver proof set 1950-1964.This was so much fun!! I knew it would go as fast as i chose, and these coins even in higher grades wouldnt break the bank. Most expensive is 1950. Only 51,386 minted. You can find beauties for 50 bucks or less. Similar is 1951; 57,500 minted. I think it reflects amazing against the Capitol holder. It means so much to me, because it's my first ever set.
