Well I haven't taken the time to attribute it, but it a gold noble iussued by Edward III of England in the 14th century.
I'll try to post this and see if I have it right as far as uploading an image directly to thread. It has been awhile. : ) Voila! Question: Can posts be deleted by self-reporting, or is that considered verboten? I see how to edit a post, but not how to delete one. Thanks. : )

I believe this North type 1231 (a) obv - EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL DNS HYB Z AQT rev - IHC AUTEM TRANSIENS PER MEDIUM ILLORUM IBAT
None of these will be interesting for a US Navy collector, but they do circulate around here. First, three coins (1, 2 and 5 cent) from Greece. The fourth one is a 20 cent coin (same design as 10 and 50 ct) from Cyprus: Christian
Two collector coins from here (Germany €10). Had made this post before but apparently the images went astray. The first one, issued in 2006, features a Hanseatic League cog ... ... and the second one (2008) shows the 1958 Gorch Fock. Yes, the two coins have the same size. Christian
Thought this was cool. It's not a "coin", but a 2 oz. high relief silver round. It's called The Siren. It's coin #2 in the series. I don't have #1. I wanted to view the piece before deciding whether to collect them all or not. Still undecided.
Here are 2 more that I thought were cool. Bullion collectible pieces. From a 5 coin series "Ships that Changed the World" issued by the Perth Mint. The three others are the Santa Maria, The Mayflower and the Cutty Sark. I'm not a big collector of colored coins or even rounds, but I do add ones to my collection that I think are cool.
Very cool. I think you'll like it. BTW, that's one of the great things about this site. You get ideas for coins or bullion that you never thought of, or in many cases didn't know existed and can take you in directions you never even dreamed of....
