I am a relative unknown collector/ but I have many coins that came from prominent collections....like 23 coins from the famed Dr. Lawrence Adams Coll. Here is a Colombia AV 9 Escudos from Norweb Coll.
This is the coin that got me hooked on Wildman coins. I ended up adding some more ex-Newman coins after this one.
Chris great coin! Heres one of my ex: Newman coll. wins. Note: old data label/ the dealer needs spelling lessons/ Colombia/not Columbia Medellin Mint not Mendillin Mint. Also/ this coin went from EF to MS-GEM 65/ I think Mr. Newman collected coins for almost 100 years!!!!!
Ex-CNG Electronic Auction 524, Lot 408, 28 Sep 2022 John Quincy Adams, sixth US president, is a maternal ancestor of mine. I'm currently reading a very interesting biography about him.
And another from the Michael Prieur Collection: (Trajan Decius – 249AD-251AD) Tetradrachm ND (250AD-251AD) (From the Michel Prieur Collection) (10 Known) NGC MS 4/5 – 3/5
This one is pedigreed to the Preussag collection, which focused primarily on mining talers and multiple denomination talers from Brunswick. The catalogue for part I of the sale in 2015 is fascinating: https://issuu.com/kuenkercoins/docs/lcg001/10. The pedigree was recognized when it was recently graded at NGC.
Probably more famous as a researcher and author, particularly US Seated Liberty coinage, he still had a substantial collection. https://www.ngccoin.com/gallery/mccloskey/
Caranette Collection I ended up winning 15 coins from his coll. thru Heritage This one was a rare Strasbourg Mint Louis d'or 1751-BB
All three of these are from the David Cervin collection. His collection was sold in 2003. I was fortunate to snag 11 from that sale.
Egg on face, this is the overdate & got photos mixed somehow...I know that plain date is around here somewhere...
