I collect them problem free original color xf and better. This is comparable to a r&b ms 64 14-d actually probably rarer
First year was Philadelphia San francisco and Carson city. 73-cc had second lowest business strike for the series behind 78-cc most were shipped overseas. Most were chopmarked or melted there. So many more cleaned or damaged. Very very hard coin to find. Especially high grade and problem free. Ms 65 highest known. A ms 63 this year sold for 17k 2 ms 62 one at 12k one at 14k. Those been about the only quality ones sold the last couple years. A couple decent vf - xf too in the $12-2500 range. These come on the market real seldom
Thank you, Mainebill. I decided to concentrate on the early gals several years ago. My collection is now much smaller in comparison to yours and others but I'm very satisfied with it overall. I only have a few more to share. Maybe I will find another one at FUN?
Hope you do!! A lot of what I'm buying is basically quality original whatever as I'm building up inventory intending on dealing in coins eventually. I won't have to make a living as I got other businesses but their killing my body and I'd like to ease into it. Really all I want is a type set a trade dollar set and a set of the early dollars but I'm a merchant by nature and I won't ever pass a good original 19th c us coin for a good value. I'm loving the dollars you posted. Quality original exactly what I want to collect myself!! Good luck in FUN. Hope you find another beauty!
Beautiful small eagle dollars, Rayman, just great! getting back to the 73-cc trade dollars, the Eliasberg example, AU58, sold recently for just over 10k. beautiful original coin.
