What do you have for 1861-1865 seated coinage? I'll post a couple of rather scudzy ones to start us off.

Nothing scudzy about either one of them.

I metal detected this 1861 Seated Dime.
My first and only seated. I'm trying for a nicer looking find before the end of the year!

I don't have any photos of Seated coins so I hope the Civil War Token is okay. It's the misspelled variety. It should be SPOT, not SPOOT.

The coins are great but I especially like the Spoot coin, nice.

I always enjoy posting this one. It sat in my childhood collection for 40+ years before I realized that it's a contemporary counterfeit. As it came from my grandmother, it's possible it was handed down from her grandfather, who was in the Wisconsin Regiment.

Many of us rightfully look at counterfeits as the bain of our hobby. I think coins like this are in a historical category when what was happening to our country at the time is taken into account. I wonder if this coin and others like it is what led to the formation of the Secret Service.

Yes that probably was not the right word. I just dug them out and they didn't seem quite as nice as I remembered. But I do like them.

    Definitely on my bucket list.
I thought surely some LA/CSA issues of this date would put in an appearance!
