Compelling evidence for the round types dating to the Warring States period, this one to State of Chu. http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=110946
Hmmm. By this time the mints should have abandoned stone for clay. You may want to show it around and get opinions. I dont know. The last large mould fragment I had took nearly 25 years to sell. Sure, super cool, but nobody wants one and wont pay for them! I am sitting on a pile of small fragments now.
Mine was a very large fragment (with some uber-cool control characters). I was happy to finally sell it for $200.
I have seen other contemporary stone Western Han molds: https://db.stevealbum.com/php/search1c.php?sale=1&item=51225 http://asian.sudokuone.com/cmold1.htm http://hua.umf.maine.edu/China/Xian/Shaanxi_History/pages/157_History_Museum.html But I am no expert on these things. I would hope mine is real, but I think it would be nearly impossible to conclusively authenticate.
With so many fakes I cannot invest myself effort and financially in them Sent from my C6740N using Tapatalk
If you stick with the common (<$30) stuff, the chance of buying fakes is very slim. The fakes at this level are very easy to spot.
