Today I found an AU 1955-D Jefferson Nickel from the same Taco Bell that I got that '47 Wheat Cent that I mentioned in post #1.
I found a proof Jefferson Presidential Dollar from the change machine at work! Of course it had scratches cause it had been circulating....... I wonder how many actually get into circulation?
I got 19 40% silver Kennedy's in change this year, just because I ask for 50 cent pieces everywhere I go. Got a 1937 Buffalo about a month ago.
A couple months ago i got a 1945D wheat cent from 7-11. Other than that, I have got a few early jeffersons, occasional bicentennial quarters, and every once in a while I find a silver dime. Also got a really nice 1967 quarter from a vending machine yesterday. Best condition quarter I have found from 1990 or earlier.
not sure if i posted this in the thread that will survive so heres a link http://www.cointalk.com/showthread.php?t=32524&p=1020689&highlight=#post1020689
Not sure if it counts as a change find exactly but working at a gas station i guess it technically could end up in someone's change if i wasn't keeping an eye out for it. I've found about $4 worth of silver quarters, a 1912 V nickel, mercury dime, $1 worth of silver dimes, couple 90% and 40% halves, another buffalo nickel, war nickels, a few pre 1960 nickels. tons of wheat pennies that i didn't bother holding on to but should've. makes me wonder how much I missed out on since I wasn't always looking for this stuff.
I was given a 1944 S Wheatie in change today! As soon as it hit my hand I saw wheat stalks and got a little thrill. I got back home, checked it and was really happy it was an S. It would grade a low VG, just a typical circulation piece, but it filled a hole in my folder! Keep your eyes open folks, there are still alot of nice coins out there looking for a caring home.
I got a 1956 wheat cent today. typical circulation, has black grime on the face edge of the portrait.
I found this very black-speckled (toned?) 1949 Roosie in change today! In hand there is a deep blueish look to the field in front of the portrait around 7 to 8 o'clock position. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture the blue color in the image.
I've found a couple wheat cents in the past few months at a local coffee shop. I'm located in Canada so to get wheats is a real treat!
Ive seen a few like that around my school. I know that you can at least plate pennies in zinc and heat them to achieve a similar effect.
I received this 1912 penny from a change machine at the local Safeway grocery store in September 2010. Where has it been for 98 years?
