This has undoubtedly been done before but I like Capital holders. The type sets especially. I like the green holders but they are hard to find these days. I'm working on a quarters set. Here's a few of mine. Feel free to post yours.
I couldn't find my picture. It's was a black capital holder for the 15 Susan B Anthony set in UNC. Complete with the three 1999 coins. Very nice shape and at $2 a coin, well it's a complete set.
I have a couple of Capital holdered sets. Sadly, I don't have photos with me here at the office but I think all Capitals sets are good looking...... I always find it funny that my first thirty years of collecting that I truly thought pre-1960 mint and proof sets came in Capital holders.
The penny set will be a 1950 - Lincoln proofs... its now a work in progress. I also noticed that there's a lot of yellowed screws...I change mine out for the medal ones replacements from Wizard coin. That's my only pet peeve is seiing the screws have yellowed....they tend to break easy to at that stage.
My 1962 proof set in a rather unique holder that encapsulates the set while still inside the original mylar.
This one perhaps? I bought it back in the 1980's from an advertiser in Coin World, I believe. Added the 1999 coin later (not in the capital holder obviously) [edit] Not the same as yours since you mention yours included the 1999 coins.
That holder was made by Capital plastics just not marked as such...they made and produced a lot of holders in the day... always top of the mark in my book.
Yes, I agree. Capital Plastics was founded in Massillon, Ohio and served the coin collecting community for many years. In 2006, they were acquired by Jaco Products in nearby Middlefield, Ohio. Jaco is a much larger plastics manufacturer and while they still make the Capital line of coin holders, it is a smaller segment of their business.
