Nice snatch at history. If I ever get the opportunity to snag one at a price I can stomach, I'll be all over it like a cheap J.C. Penneys' suite.........
Latest CAC coin for me - 1799 $1, VF35. One of only a few early silver pieces I have. There are a ton of these out there compared to many other issues - and maybe over 300 that have CAC certification, but with over 8,000 estimated by PCGS to exist, that's still far less than 10%.
I still don't understand about CAC much. How they give it or Not. All I know if the coin or coins that is eye appealing or PQ like Heritage used in the earlier days when buying coins from they. Or even how other use a Plus ( + ) sign on the slab. Can this be like a CAC ?? Just another fees to an company that tells you it is acceptable coins for others to buy or sell in a higher price I guess. Soon or later their will be another sticker to you slab to be approve for better premium price. I guess this can use to sell to a buyer in a sight unseen buying.
Actually a 1799 $1 (post #194) is one of the few coins where it makes sense to have a CAC sticker on the slab. It does not only confirm the assigned grade but also guarantees original surfaces/color etc. I'd spend a couple of dollars for a CAC sticker on a $3500 coin, it's like getting another opinion.
