    Fire or heat damage? Really? Maybe I should leave it as is. At least it's an AU. If I ever scrape enough for a problem free already graded example, I'll pick it up.

    The ring around obverse is a sign that it could be heated by something. DSCN1791-1.jpg One thing that stands out

    I know one of those rings is the reflection on the camera in the holder. But I think I see what you're talking about.

    The Draped Bust sure looks original , though not sure about the Busty . Love your 1806 especially the no stem through claws !!!!!

    Interesting thought - here's a different, more recent pic of the capped bust - to me, the coin looks more original than in the first picture I posted - not as bright in the middle and more charcoal, less blue on the edges. Pretty consistent with other old silver with CAC certification, which this one does.
