BWR nickel roll with a 1868 shield nickel. 8. $1,000 Bag of Dimes with 2 mercs, 9 rosies, and 141 extra dimes 8. A nice teller at my dump bank that has been saving wheats for me, and has given me over 100 of them now There's so many good hauls I've had and I'm probably missing a lot of them
My best single day score: I had a teller call to let me know she had saved some old half dollars for me. It turned out she had a full roll of '64s and four extra 40%ers! The dime box I picked up that day also gave me a pair of roosies.
Just started on Friday. Decided to pick up $5 of penny rolls on the way home from work. There were 3 wheats total; 1929, 1940, and 1951.
Ahh, well happy hunting, started about 2 months ago, penny's and nickels are the best but quarters are good b/c I have a friend who collects territories and atb quarters, so she buys them at face
Where tellers have spare change, say you cash a check for 400.56, she gives you 4 100 dollar bills from her tray, 2 quarters, a nickel and a penny
1864 Cent I guess this is "about good", probably never had an L and I love it! Found in a cent box a couple years ago.
$10.00 in pennies 4 wheat Oldest 1920 62 pre 70's 139 pre 82 The 1920 is in my opinion about MS 63 red/brown I saw the back and thought it was probably a 50's era. When I flipped it and saw the date made my day. Good luck hunting! Hoping to get some pictures to add. Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t10176-1554/#ixzz29JliOTrb
I'm pretty sure that I've replied to this before mentioning a F/XF 1909-VDB cent, but I've recently found a 1913-P buffalo nickel. Granted, it's a more recent coin and has a higher mintage, but, for serious, even if a person can be so oblivious as to see a wheat cent and toss it back into circulation, how can a person not stop and give pause to a buffalo nickel? I've found well more than 1000 wheats, but (as far as I can recall) only 4 or 5 buffaloes, and the 1913 being the only one older than 1936. I've found 1950-D, 1942-D and 1949-S Jefferson's but they seem to easy to pass up, despite their significantly lower mintage than the 1913-P.
