Get to know a few dealers who specialize in Barbers. I am on a list with one who notifys me when his submission to PCGS has arrived and gives me first pick of what he just got back. He'll shoot images for me of any in the submission and I get to pick and choose which I can use and which I don't want to bother with. We discuss pricing structures as well and if he's too high, I tell him to adjust his pricing. When he's too low, I tell him the same thing. He knows he can trust my judgement - and sometimes that works out for other Barber Half collectors - sometimes, they think the prices are going thru the roof. I hate to say this, but this time next year, todays high prices will seem like bargains. There is a lot of conversation going around that Barber Half prices for solid for the grade coins are going to go thru the roof.

I'll put it in a personal perspective, I bought a nice 1900-S Half a year and a half ago in a PCGS 58 holder from a good friend. He paid $475 for it a few months before. I paid him his ask price of $550. I sold the coin last August at the Heritage ANA Pre Show auction for $650 [ plus the juice ]. It sold to a collector - who in turn made a profit and it reached another dealers eBay auction last week; this coin sold for $1850.

Hold on to your hats, Boys and Girls, its gonna be a bumpy ride.
