even cooler that it was used. ms coins are boring! no one held them. no one used them. post your circulated coins!! i will drool!!!!!
The 09-O would have been the perfect candidate for the Low Ball set. Too bad there were some rim hits. Interesting coin, regardless. The 03- Phila coin shows good honest wear. Tough date - and a sleeper in VF 35 to XF 45. Log Potato - were those Todd's images ? How the heck did you get them so fast ?? Nice coins, BTW !! Jim, FYI, my undergraded coins are always for sale. Please make it to Philadelphia & bring your Son too !!
Well I actually know a bit of eachs story. The 1903 my grandmother found (not sure where shes a bit senial now and theres no chance shed remeber) sometime probably in the 60s and put up in a box along with other coins. The 1909 believe it or not was in circulation up untill 2011 lol. How that date/mint and being a barber in general was in circulation for 100 years is beyond me . The way I pulled it out of circulation was I bought a huge lot of silver quarters from a man who owned a few laundry mats. The barber was inside so i know it came from the machines sometime in 2010 or 2011. I also got about 11 standing libertys in g-f shape. Sadly in all those quarters I got no 1932 s or d or any double dies :/. I did pull hundreds of BU newer washingtons though like 1950-1964. and a few nice key dates. Even a good AU 1934 medium text.
I wish it was a BMP - its in a PCGS - CAC - MS 64. PCGS doesn't specify PL's on Barber coinage, sorry to say.
Brainfart I saw the sharp strike and frost of the Obv and completely forgot to look for a MM. Beauty for sure
Seriously? MS??? I was honestly thinking proof had it not been for the mintmark. Very nice strike and beautiful appearance.
Here are two more. The half is a newp for me, the quarter I've had but not sure if I ever posted it. The photos really magnify the issues. The quarter obv looks way better in hand but looks like it was cleaned at some point perhaps. I took those photos in full sun after just removing it from the 2x2 after who knows how many years, probably decades. The half is the first certified barber I've purchased. The reverse is offset counterclockwise somewhat.
