I posted this in another thread, $1 face barbers I picked up for melt last Friday. 1912-D,1914-D(X2),1912,1907,1900,1910,1908,1913,1915.
Trust me, I don't love today's coins either...my favorites are the Standing, Walking, and Winged Liberties. All of those coins had character, class, and were just beautiful.
My 1912 D Barber Half is not in great shape, but it is my first(as I am new at this hobby) and I am proud of it. This coin was a gift from a friend to welcome me to the hobby. Thanks
dj... That 12-D Half is exactly the look I started with... Looks like a solid VG 10. Its a slow process to complete a set of these Halves, but its worth it in the long run. Congrats on having such a nice friend to give you that coin.
Thanks alot for the words of encouragement. Yeah he a good friend, he was really happy to have a coin buddy I think. LOL
Mike, are these all part of what is up for auction. I keep checking the Heritage Rosemont Auction, but have yet to see them listed yet.
These just got back from CAC - and HA hasn't imaged them yet. Justin - I got the BCCS Journal - and lo and behold my old 1905 was on the front cover !! I never realized it had an RPD. Nice image BTW.
Yeah I had no idea they were going to publish that. I was just looking for advice on what it was. I just thought it was a die chip so I sent a picture to Eileen to see if anyone could help me figure it out. I sent that back in February or so. It didn't even cross my mind to ask you about it. I had actually forgot about the whole thing until I got the Journal.
Way too many nice ones being posted lately... was playing with my piles of junk silver Barbers recently, going through them and trying to fill holes in some old albums. Figured I'd repost these pics of a couple mini-hoards of Barbers I bought in the past couple of years
Two years ago, I bought a 1901-S in PCGS 55. It was a mistake as I never liked the coin due to a hit on the throat which was a major distraction. I had to dig deep [ VERY DEEP ] for it and after I owned it for a few months, I regretted my decision. I ended up trading it for the 1892-O Micro O Half in my collection [ PCGS 63 - EX: Shireman ].
