It's got some rub on the cheeks too , I guess they thought it was market acceptable it's a NGC MS-63 rzage
If that's the case, never try and cross it - it won't holder as a 63. I would love to own it myself - but - I'd want it in a PCGS slab - as all of my Halves are in PC holders.
It's not really rub like wear , more like it was in a Dansco album and the plastic left a couple of small lines , I don't plan on selling it so I really don't care if it's in a NGC slab but like you I prefer PCGS a little more . rzage
Yes ,I never gave up coins just took a break & didn't sell them for my paper collection,I've always liked both but from time to time switch back or collect both.
More people ask me how you are - want to know what you're doing; still dabbling in buying and selling - or - have you gotten a new 9-5 ? Hope all is well...post more ATS - pls. MFH
Thanks,I appreciate that & have been ill but on the mend for now. Yes I'm still collecting since 1956 when I was 7 years old & my uncle bought me my first proof set,I was hooked & then I got into both paper & coins (US) Great to hear from you also,I'll keep in touch ! Bob Connor
I suppose I'll bring this down to earth a little with one of my mistakes: Now, for another shot of the obverse. I have not changed the exposure, lighting, nor post-processing between shots. All I did was reshoot with the coin rotated by 90 degrees. This coin is housed in a PCI 14-digit Green Label PR-64 holder, and serves as my object lesson about trusting coin photography. And, no, no matter how much I wanted to believe it, the scratches are not on the holder.
I will freely admit I know little about grading proofs, but I am not even in the same park with this one. Can someone explain any logic to that grade, please?
Unfortunately I do not have the coin in hand anymore but.... The coin was very dark tone & the color is only coming out due to the diffused lighting I used to take the picture. I thought the coin would 4 or 5 myself . I do think the color played a role in the coins grade along with the wing /shoulder tips & neck on the reverse being somewhat flat in spots.
