Awesome to see so many cool coins.
I have a batch of 1,2,10, and 20 heller from the late 1800's coming. I mostly wanted the 20's, I seemed to have developed a fascination with 20 penny, or in this case heller coins.

Interesting pieces. :) The first one is Hungarian (the "Transleithanian" part of the empire), the other coin is from Salzburg (Sigismund III) ...

Indeed. I always get confused with Austro Hungarian empire time lines. I actually forgot to add this one. A common commemorative but i love the tone. austria-2gulden-obv.jpg austria-2gulden-rev.jpg

Amazing coins Zohar. I like the railway 2T the most. Such hard to fine Austrian 2Ts in 18xx. Any idea how these coins were preserved this well ?

Thanks. The 2T Railway was a commemorative with mintage of 1,644. I assume these were set aside and not circulated.

Since I have been around these coin forums, you have always posted breathtaking pieces Zohar. Your collection as a whole must be simply magnificent at this point.

weryon - thank you so much for the kind words. I don't post as often as I do not see much of a Taler focus here, yet my entire collection (World and Ancient) is on my websites in my sigline.

Neat coins you all have here. I especially like the coins with portraits. :) Francis I was the last Holy Roman Emperor, the first emperor of Austria, and his daughter Marie Louise was married to Napoleon.

That 30 kreuzer coin has a lot of text ;) because it was issued under, well, special circumstances. At that time the paper gulden and the silver gulden did not have the same value. The inscription "Wiener St(adt) Banco Zett(el) Theilungs Münz(e) z(u) 30 K(reuzer)" indicates it was the sub-unit (Vienna issue) of the paper gulden ...
