Post Your AU58's

    I think the edge darkening on the bust influenced the initial lower grade, I have
    many $20 liberties and saints in my collection in AU/58 not sure if it’s the metal talking..LOL , but it’s usually a brighter experience.

    What am I missing here? I see no sign of this ever having been touched by anyone.

    Maybe the photos hide it, there's a small amount of wear on the hair. But it's a beautiful coin and was cheaper than a unsightly low MS coin would be.

    I absolutely agree. It certainly makes the point of this thread, that the artificial boundary between circulated and uncirculated can cause good coins to grade lower and worse coins to grade higher.

    In the Peace Dollars, in particular, weak strikes often result in poor hair detail at the center of the obverse. I prefer your AU58 to this one any day.
