Are you speaking of your next Boston * find? That is what I am referring too. I am currently looking out for Cleveland and Boston 2009 $1 stars. I've already came across several uncirculated Boston and Cleveland regular $1's in my strap searches, just no stars yet.

My bank hasn't gotten me and 2009 $20 stars yet, I'm wondering what the hold up is lol. It's probably because I live out here on the west coast and so far only eastern banks have issued star 2009 $20's. I just have to wait for some to make their journey over here I guess.

    Steve,

I was wondering where your word was on this thread. Nice note. Are you going to have it graded or is it already graded?

What factors do you consider when determining whether to get a modern (i.e. 2009) star note graded or not? (I know it should be from a run of 640k or less, but anything else?) Thanks.

I personally never get anything graded, but I do know that most of the notes Steve posts on here are usually graded, so I thought I'd ask and see if he was going to have it graded or if he already did so. He's one of the few members I know on here that has majority of his collection graded (or majority of what he posts, for that matter), so I use some of the notes he posts to make my guestimations on the grade and then find out the results. In other words, I practice grading notes through what he posts. If I could afford to and if I wasn't worried about storage issues, I'd have all my AU+ notes graded reguardless of newer or older series, but thats just me.

I've been on the hunt for a 2009 Boston star, for quite a while. It seems as though folks are finding them all the time, so I'm hoping one will come my way. If I found one of those, that would make my day, as I've been searching and searching.
I have found a ton of 2009 Boston non stars, but the star notes still elude me.

My only '09 star so far, is a NY note, I got in change at Home Depot last winter. It's probably in about AU condition, and is one of my favorite notes.

Take rarity into consideration, but don't shy away from a note that may be from a standard run, but look superb. Anyone will go after a 69 or 70 graded note to upgrade the collection. As for me, I usually only have certain stars that I would think about submitting, but I have a gorgeous 1981A $20 with perfect centering that is in that mix as well.

I have a really nice 1981 $20 UNC I got in change from Wal-Mart a year ago and I also have a 1990 $20 UNC that I got from my bank teller. I have been taking into high consideration getting them graded, as well. I'd be curious to see what they grade out. I just don't have the money to get them graded or the proper storage.

Also, I am going to start up an UNC 2009 $1 DS. Any help on the following districts for face in uncirculated condition would be extremely helpful:

Boston, NY, Phili, Richmond, Atlanta, Minneapolis, & KC.

I have seen nice examples of Boston, NY, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, but I wasn't tring to get a DS going so I didn't save them and of course now that I want to get a DS going, they are no where to be found in my strap searches. What I haven't seen yet includes Richmond, Minneapolis, & Kansas City.

In case you don't know, here are what the serial numbers of the 2009 brand new $1's I want:
    A********A, B********A, C********A, E********A, F********A, I********A, and J********A.

Yes, I specifically would like the 'A' blocks for all the districs. The lower the serial number, the better. I am also going to post this in the "Wanted" but I thought I'd post it here too. Please PM if you can get me any of these districts for face. I would cover your shipping and of course face value. I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks much. Do you usually pay attention to what kind of $1's you see floating around where you live?

    No problem.

Yup, I do. I know for a fact that I've seen at least three of the blocks you listed (A-A, B-A, and F-A) floating around. I also strap search $1's on a weekly basis, and many of the '09's I find are in nice shape.
Whatever I find, I can post , and if you like them, then they're all yours.

I went to the bank today to pick up some ones for work. I gave the teller $100 and he gave me a brand new stack 0f $1 star notes. I tried to post pictures but was unable. I will try again when I understand how better. They were Boston notes A04626401 -A04626500. They come from a large size run But was still pretty excited. Need less to say I had to get another 100 in ones for work because I kept those.

Right on. Good news for you! Man, there really are a TON of New Englanders on here. I wish I could go over there just for the purpose of looking through straps haha. I know my 2009 $1 Boston * is on its way to me though. It's just taking longer than expected.:hail:

I certainly don't need 100 of these notes so if you haven't found one by the time I get my 50 post I will gladly swap you. I just started collecting star notes over the past 6 months. There are still many I need. Good searching.

As soon as I'm allowed I will gladly swap you for another star note I don't have. Just not that ripped one I notice earlier in the thread..lol
