($1 and 2009 unless mentioned otherwise) Low serials from the LI block, from the same dealer 8001-8010 run [goes with the 8005,8007 and two 8006's I already had.] 284,2571,3036,4362,5849,6632,7208, and 8311. [which match other bills I have] (The matching bills are not 2009's or LI's) Also in the low serial number department, B00001572D runs of 10 (with unremarkable serials) from BB,CA,DA,DC,EB,EC,GC,KB,KC,LB,LC and LG. Also DBx7 and GAx8. These are from other collectors, except for GA and KC, which I found myself. 1 A* and 1 B* I collect any bills with one each of 1 through 8 in the serial. Three of them are 2009's: K45376821A (lightly circulated), L54726138B (CU), and L54726183B (CU). K20025555B Consecutive pair of AB's with cutting error on the righthand side Individual bills from FB uncut sheets (no whole or partial sheets) F99837954B (the B in the righthand serial number is shifted upwards) F99990363B (the highest) F99987954B,F99987955B,F99987956B (three of the sheets I bought were consecutive, so I kept one consecutive run of 3) $5s Sheet of 16, JL99848503A through JL99998503A. JL99998907A as an individual bill.
Deffinately quite an '09 collection you got going there! I too go through hundreds of ones regularly. At one time, I did happen to notice one of these particular 1-8 serial numbers but I spent it thinking it wasn't uch. I thought they had to be consecutive to make the note collecible, such as a ladder note.
B00001572D was the only collectible 2009 I found today. Relatively little of my collection is purchased from a dealer or found in circulation. Most is acquired from various collectors active on the WheresGeorge forums. The 2009 LI guy is a dealer, but I know him from there. I was in DC this summer, bought some uncut sheets in person, and cut them up myself. Yeah, the ladders are more valuable - if you find something that, we can talk. If you see any more 'regular' 1 through 8's, I'd be interested in them for at least a bit above face+postage. 8 factorial is 40320, which is 0.042% of 96 million, or about 1 in 2381.
Deffinately a keeper. I will let you know if I ever come across a similar 1-8 note again. It's been slow for me lately with strap searching, but it will pick up early next month (tomorrow, lol)
I would have guessed that you paid $20 for it. But finding it in that good condition from a gas station, dang! What is it? CHCU?
Considering I am a complete idiot when it comes to grading currency, I would say it could go CU. There are no folds, no creases or smudges.
I hate you for finding that note haha!:rollling: Yes, I am of course being sartastic (or am I??). Nice to meet you, log potato, my name is Travis from NorCal. I look forward to chatting with you on here. I haven't seen you over here before. I am guessing that you spend majority of your time over on the coins forum.
Plus, potato, did you ask if he had the consecutive note before that? Sometimes the notes (when going through counting machines at banks) get flipped out around out of order to they are consecutively going the other way. The note before this would too be very collectible, espcially with its consecutive partner!
Yes, I mostly post in the coin forums. I only collect bills from circulation. I received that bill with other ones which werent even close to the same serial number.
"sarnath'd" is the relevant Internet slang. likely the gas station got that as a singleton as opposed to getting a CU strap/partial strap with that serial in it. incidentally, some awesome 4x uncut sheets on the first page. knew uncut $50s exist, but had never seen pictures of them before. the serial number skip is only 1500 The BEP sells frames for 16-bill and 32-bill sheets. I use those for my 16-bill sheets. Made of acrylic and clear on both sides. A metal hanging chain attaches to the top and is held in place with a wooden block. I have some individual bills from uncut sheets that I store like anything else. Edit: recently found A48482424B in AU. Thought that number was cool.
my first matching pair in the 1K range. Still looking for one in the 9K range. I don't have any pairs higher than 10K, though I'd like some of those too.
Scans of the matching serial sets which include 2009 LI's: http://www.mediafire.com/?goi6m21xr4ub1 Have noticed a cutting error on various 2009 $1s printed at DC. Right margin is wide at the top/narrow at the bottom, or left margin is narrow at the top/wide at the bottom. A consecutive pair of A-B's with this error: http://www.mediafire.com/i/?gz2zp99iy5wm99z
