Its raw, but I believe it to be genuine. I believe the wavy lines on the wall are typical for Type I quarters. I checked a few on Heritage that show the same type of lines, but most pics are washed out from being overexposed, so my lighting may highlight it more.
You can also look at the lines on the wall here. I believe they are meant to be either texture on the wall, or imaginary writing.
I have almost half of the series done...these are just a few. I apologize I posted the 1920 quarter twice.
I'm still missing the 18/17 overdate, I found my 1916 (FR02, Details Damaged, certified by ICG - it's my profile pic) in a lot of 83 quarters I paid $4.70 each for on eBay last October (not from a coin seller from a consignment shop), so it does happen. I started wanting to build a G-VG set a couple years ago with my youngest son (now away from home in college) - now I'm building 4 sets - two in albums, two slabbed / graded, these damn things are addictive - my latest three purchases (by far my nicest)
And I thought I was observant... just admiring some SQLs on this post, first time I ever noticed that my 1917 is a D! The invoice/receipt I received just shows it as a 1917. And on this one that I received in change about 50 years ago... I always called it a 1917-S.
Great coins. SLQs are my favorite US series of coins. Back in the 1990s there was a SLQ club with quarterly publications based out of Albuquerque. It disappeared after a few years but I still have all of it's publications.
