Another piece that commemorates a zoo (image from muenzen.eu) was issued in Austria, ten years ago. It features the Schönbrunn zoological garden, next to the castle with the same name, in Vienna ... Christian
No croc in sight there. Those three coins from 1992/93 (1, 3 and 5 tenge) show different decorative fittings. The beast on the 3 tenge piece is supposed to be a fish with the head of a boar. Ten years later, by the way, Kazakhstan issued a series of 100 tenge coins that commemorated 10 years of the new national currency - and that boar-fish showed up there again ... Christian
They are nice ones, with the eyes and defined snouts. The only better examples come with the city name of Olbia on them. Btw, they are circa 400BC typically.
