I would say some of the silver war nickels in certified MS67, they seem quite affordable. Their population figures show some amazing numbers. Sometimes with four plus full steps. A common coin made rare by grade is nothing new, but this series seems to have slipped thru the cracks.

This isn't really a good nomination, but I'll mention the Lincoln Chronicles Set. With a mintage of 50k sets, you can get them for under $130.

Nice Trade dollar Leadfoot. What grade is it?

This is my most under rated coin IMO. I'd like to pick up a couple more, 1888 comes to mind

IMG_8522.jpg IMG_8523.jpg I totally agree with you George. The US/Phillipine coins are beautiful and historic. I think you have found the MOST UNDERRATED of them all. Nice twenty cent silver too.

Some very, very nice coins mentioned. I'm still searching for a 1914 S Barber Quarter in Fine at the right price...and a similar 1913 S Barber Dime in Fine. Those are the first two on my wish list (plenty of VG examples, not so much with F.)

I always buy 1937 S Washington quarters at melt when I can find them. I even found a dealer who had about ten of them in grades ranging from G to XF for about 50 cents above melt - not a bad deal when you can get it! Working on completing a circulated roll to put away for that rainy day (not to sell, obviously...rainy days are for coins!)

I feel like the Jefferson series is going to pick up steam - which is why I will usually buy any really nice examples that dealers have if they're priced reasonably. I've got quite a few beauties stashed away that cost me less than ten bucks (and most times, less than five.) For someone on a tight coin budget - perfect opportunity to feel like I'm ahead of the curve on something!
