Return of the alleged AU Alright GD and RLM: give it to ME! :eat:encil:encil:encil:encil::eat: Maybe it's AU, but I'm betting I'll get better with a submission. By the way I got the boogers off with mineral oil and rose thorn after I looked at the pics (kids- don't try this at home without lots of practice on junk).
Boss, I am still going with the AU on that 1915-. I guess that it is possible for them to call it MS, but my guess is 55/58. BTW, those are some pretty good pics. Is that a die crack across Abe's ear? 20-S Nice strike for a 20-S. I think you got it right at XF/AU. I guess XF due to the scratch. 25-D Another nice strike, but AU (53?)
Sorry, CHAMELEON, but that 73-S does not do much for me, but then again I am not a toning freak like some here. However, I like the other 4. Those 20-S's are hard to find - I know from personal experiences. Do you have some bigger pics of those top 3?
Nice coins- do you think those are MS 70'd? The product, not the grade. I know NGC grades these usually. Cool colors.
What? Because I can now see the coins? It kind of makes a difference when you can see what you are talking about.
I know the 15 is AU but it's been fun to argue. I went back and reread ANA grading standards which I have to reread occassionally. I think coins with a no luster breaks as this one and clean fields seem like they would make it an MS. Isn't that market grading? Superior eye appeal and condition cause a bump up in grade beyond the technical or actual grade. I got some more I'll post tonight! GD- pills and the devil? I didn't get your inside joke. More to follow on the never ending posts
I just got a new computer. The monitor on my old computer monitor was very poor so I could not see #$%#%. It was so poor, well, just look at this thread. http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t44616/. Anyway, Doug and I had more than 1 discussion with me saying "I cannot see......."
You nailed it. Rlm and GD can vouch, I have sent in AU primos and got back 63-64RB's.... We have debated the fact that PCGS will market grade and assign a " value " to a market acceptable coin, NGC will not. I have crossed NGC 55's and 58's into mint state PCGS plastic. It happens. Your results will not suprise me either way.
Jack, then it's off to PCGS for this one this week. RLM- I actually read that post just the other day. So what happened to your 1931 D 65 RD. If it goes to NCS it's gonna come back blue and violet, cause their super secret formula is some version of MS 70 as far as I am concerned. Not that I dislike blue/violet Lincolns. Some are awesome.
If you read it, you missed the end. They sent me a replacement and everyone agrees that their replacement is RB not RED. I sent it back and am waiting at that point.
Here are a couple of 30s lincolns. Nothing really rare, but nice to look at ( I hope). I was going through my album, upgrading some, but these are staying. Jim
