thank you well the first one feels the same even across the grey spot so not sure why the discoloration I think the second one is clipped and the last one well I am not sure it is not any thinner then any other wheatie I got just has that orange peel look on both sides any sujestions on how to take better pics of my pennies I still am doing trial and error with my digital
Trial and error is what I'm still using. Coins are hard to photograph. They're shiny. Hints I can give, look for a macro option on your camera - often a flower icon. Use a tripod or anything that will help hold the camera still. Move the camera as far away from the coin as necessary to get it in focus then crop out the part of the pic that isn't coin. About all I got on camera tips. If you have a scanner, they will work fine for details. Also search cointalk for more hints and tips. ( the search link is found at the top of every cointalk page, below the breadcrumbs.) Oh, welcome to Cointalk! (my manners suck.) A suggestion, post the error coins in the error forum where cointalk's error experts are more likely to see them.
1970 s Mint Mark Found this in my last 20 rolls that I searched last week. Finally got the coin/camera setup put together (thread to follow). I realize that this is not an error but check out how high and close the mint mark is to the date. Opinions?
Anyone want to take a stab at this grade - actual grade, not what the slab says (NTC 68). It may not be a 68, but it comes close.
Very nice coins everyone. Here's one that's a little different. A 1988 with the reverse style of 1989 conservatively graded MS64RD by ICG. A transitional variety. More info here Phoenix21, thanks for the thread and thanks for all the great photos everyone.:smile
Man, very sweet Lincolns all! Wow. :thumb: RLM, I'd say a MS-67 IMHO, atleast a 66 if not a 67. Nice Lincolns all, I hope to get some pics up of some more of mine tonight or tomorrow. Phoenix
I think it is every bit a 67. I have one grade 67 by NGC and it beats that coin easily - IMHO. BTW, it costs me $5.20 - I assume because it is in a NTC slab.
Here is one I almost forgot about. I missed most of the color on the observe, but got most of it on the reverse. PCI calls it 67 reainbow. I thought that they were nuts, but the more I look at it, it might just make 67.
