The fact that it is such a wide spread D/D and also a DDO and also the DDO is due to striking with two different die variety makes it one of my favorites!

    Larry,
That is a real sharp 13-. I like it. An interesting 39-. And I don't know what tom say about the 43-. That can't be real, can it?

It is a real 43 but it's plated. The 4 is damaged.
It's actually the best plating job I have ever seen.

Nice example and the length of this thread is showing just how many Lincoln pennys have been minted!

Here's a 1941P-1DO-002 I found in pocket change the other day. How would you grade it?

I would call it AU-50. It might go a little higher were it not for the spot.

You are hard to disagreee with:rolleyes:
It's a nice coin with an issue, too bad for the spot. It'll only get worse.

The 1909 looks like a MS 66 to me flawless coin. edited (I don't know if that breaks any rules to ask that?)

edit - it does when you post it here

Sorry this is out of order, but I love this posts and check it regularly. I agree with Jack. The 09 S VBD is harshly cleaned with lots of carbon spots (wouldn't suprise me if it got near a grand on ebay if for sale), 14 D was harshly cleaned and 31 S doesn't look bad but hard to tell from the pic. All key dates though so still worth some money. Just MHO.

1910- my local dealer said it was dipped?

Coin has turned more "red" but some of this is the lighting: MS 64-65?

I cannot tell for sure about a couple spots that I see in the red pic, but if they are that light, I would think it is every bit a 65. That is a nice coin!
