    1871 Shield Back Sovereign, MS63 PCGS

    Just bought this one the other day ... scarce date, and the Shield Backs are mighty popular. This one is Die #29 on the reverse.

    -------------------------1887 sixpence with shield back could be guilded and passed as a half sovereign ,so it was withdrawn,and a new type with sixpence on the reverse was introduced

    This is the maundy I got today from eBay. Looked pretty nice from the scans:
