Ouch. That's what, maybe a $50-60 coin without all the pretty colors? I'd pay more than $50 for it, but no way is it a $3000 coin.
Here's another one, a little lower key than some of the others. VG coin, MS price, anyone? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1942-WALKIN...nited-States-Silver-Coin-i44710-/321608475432
If buying the plastic yes. Personally I would grade the coin to be a MS62 or a low end MS63 that was obviously bumped up by PCGS 1-2 points, so without toning, I would say $50-$60 would be high. But we all know the price is for the color which is subjective. It will be interesting to see what the hammer price is. I look forward to the results, and will update the thread.
And the award for best picture goes to: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1921-Peace-...610280?hash=item4d3a3dcc28:g:hUQAAOSwT5tWKqCQ Yeah... pretty sure that's not even a picture of a Peace dollar there, buddy.
Well the only thing is can make out is some kind of a Mint mark on the slab. So it's not a 1921 for sure.
Something went way wrong there. That's John Hamrick, who has been in the coin business almost as long as I've been alive. It's not exactly a high-dollar offering for him.
I didn't click through to his other listings at first, but, yeah, his stuff generally looks legit. He's got another listing (I think an 89-CC Morgan) that's got a similarly funky looking picture.
In the "you keep using that word; I do not think it means what you think it means" department: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-S-PR-Lincoln-penny-D-CAM-SUPER-BLUE-TONING-with-capsule-/262341738826 Someone is very, very confused.
"OLD $20 SILVER DOLLAR ROLL WITH TRADE & CC CARSON CITY MORGAN DOLLAR ENDS" This guy. Sold 3 last week, that I saw. Has 3 more this week. If you had at least 6, wouldn't you open 1? How lucky for him - " I bought the rolls from an older gentleman. He had a large coin collection and these were part of the collection." http://www.ebay.com/itm/OLD-20-SILV...508666?hash=item35fd27c4fa:g:i0oAAOSwxvxW7LEO
I love ebay but you better CYA with all the crooked sellers that continue to get away with scams. Experienced buyers are good at spotting the scams, but the novice buyers get burned on a regular basis.
Lol. This guy seems kind of clueless in general. He's also got an FDR presidential dollar that he titled "Calvin Coolidge."
