The last Ike

 

Ike is looking good during his last strike. Wow that is a beauty. G

John, here is what I put the money from our deal toward:

I already have a 71-S PR69DCAM in my registry set that is a Peg Leg, so I was looking for a "Funny Foot" serif R for my showcase. I had my eye on this one a while, and decided the unique obverse was something I wanted to have (I don't care about the grade on this coin, I thought it was cool). I think I will call it the Fault Line Ike.
Who knows, maybe it will show up and be a DDO and/or DDR

 

Heh, I had this one on my watch list at one point also... decided to put my money elsewhere, but looks like it should be interesting in hand.

 

Nothing spectacular, but the green is a nice touch.

 

I have had it on and off of my watch list a few times and decided to pull the trigger. In the words of Coinguy Matthew, "when are you gonna see another one like this," so I jumped on it, after asking for a lower price.

 

I once had that coin in my sights but wanted to hold out for a more striking toning pattern oddly enough I never did come across one. The one you have and one other coin are the only two I have seen that are not obvious brown box coins. Also "when are you gonna see another one like this" is trademarked by me so ill expect a deposit into my account you have the info......Jk

 

That's some odd toning indeed, but it's strangely attractive - lots of character. :thumb:

 

It will definitely be a welcome addition to my showcase.

I have it in hand this morning... Minor DDO! Now I like it even more!
I tried to get some pictures of the doubling, but the best one I could come up with was the "B" in Liberty:

 

If anyone ever has any Ike's they are looking for let me know. I'm almost always have some Ike's for sale or trade.

You know your skills are always sharp. I picked it up because I was looking for something more than your average Funny Foot. Than I found out it was a DDO, so I am even happier.
