:thumb:Fellow Ike liker I need A Nice Raw 1971-P will trade a silver Coin Dollar For Nice Raw BU MS60 IKE!!!! :thumb:PM Me !!!!
I keep clicking on this thread and leave with the same thought each time. I really need to start collecting Ikes!
I pulled this '78 out of a "100 years of Silver Dollars" display that I picked up at an auction awhile ago. It's a "D" mint mark, I'm pretty sure it was polished before it was put in the display. I still like the toning on the obverse. The 2001 ASE that was in with it turned out pretty nice, as well. I'll post that one in the toned thread.
Trying out my latest photo setup. Ike's make a great subject for coin photography due to their large size and not-so-fine detail.
Took better pics of this 1971-P because the seller pics did no justice... Seller pics-odd color i think My pics.... I was quite surprised when it came in the mail that it wasn't the dark rose color of the sellers pictures, which is okay because i didn't quite care for it...I seem to do okay taking pics of non toned coins but if they are toned i get aggravated quick...
Doesn't it bother you that you're copying PCGS's TrueView Format? I know that the lettering and text is different but the basic design is the same: A coin super imposed over a background consisting of the company name slanted at a 45 degree angle in a shadowed but outlined letter style.
gbroke offered to image some of my Ikes, i sent them off and these were the images that came back. He totally surpassed my expectations and i am totally thrilled with the end result. Feast your eyes on these......
It was my pleasure to image these. The cameo toned proofs in slabs were by far the most challenging coins I have imaged yet. I really had to change my setup to accommodate them. It was a real learning experience. Not to mention, those coins are beautiful and I was happy to have them in hand. This raw one is my favorite Also, Matthew and anyone else. If you didn't know, the images will appear larger in the forum if you link to them instead of uploading them here. Just wrap the image url with forum image tags, like this: [ img ]http://linktoimage.com[ /img ] Without the spaces.
Just one image alone cannot represent the toned proofs, i think its safe to say you just have to see them in hand to believe it....
Scored this beauty off of eBay last night and now i have to endure the torture of waiting for it to arrive, I feel like its going to look much better in hand and if not its no big deal because it was really cheap. I also bought this coin because i like to evaluate the toning patterns produced by the original mint packaging.
I'm with you, I scored these on Thanksgiving on ebay for a decent price, I think they'll be in the mailbox today... type 1 and type 2
