Just won this on Ebay but the other Ike guys are out tonight and made me pay up for it lost the one before it because i never expected it to go so high lol. Had to have it sorry if you bid on it.
I was watching those as well, but I forgot to add them to my watchlist. I've bid on several over the past couple of years, but I was never able to get one. Some went for crazy money. Congrats!
Here is a nice one. And my link to my full set on PCGS covers all PCGS Numbers for Cam, DCam, T-1,T-2, silver, clad and more. Tough set to complete about 8 years to find them all. None were very expensive but the population was down right rare. Some there were less then 50 graded over the years. http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/showcase.aspx?sc=2281
I love nice toning on Ikes, but this type of toning,to me, is very unattractive. Attractive toning on proof Ikes is very very rare to find, and most look like they came out of a Louisiana swamp! On the other hand, attractive toning on MS strikes is far more acceptable and appreciated by most dedicated Ike collectors. These in the pics. are often called "BODY BAGS", ones with that milky-white edge toning which will eventually spread to the entire surface. My opinions about Ike toning is not intended to offend anyone,s preference, just the way I feel about them.
It really depends on the coin. A lot of the coins from this horde are known to be attractively toned and in some cases under graded. So yes to a small group of collectors the Golden Nugget Casino coins are worth a premium but only if they are nice coins. I have seen some sell for as little as $80 and some as high as $300+. I will include a link where you can read more about them. http://rickspedigreecoins.blogspot.com/2014/11/ricks-pedigree-coins-1976-d-eisenhower.html
Gee what a nice set...makes my efforts look kinda pitiful...but I'm workin' on it. Thankx for the show!!
