I don't think I've ever seen an O Washington quarter in the wild. But then the Washington has never caught my attention like the Standing Liberty or even Barber.
I'm new here, but have to comment. Thank you Skyman for posting this incredible collection; just beautiful coins, and beautiful photography.
Thank you VERY much for your kind words Dr. G!!! I am glad that you enjoy them. It's been a LOT of fun collecting them. I agree with you that the photography is wonderful, and would like to thank Bob Campbell for his amazing coin imagery wizardry. BTW, I also posted a thread today containing the 1947 PDS Washingtons in my B toner Dansco. Here's the link... https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1947-pds-washingtons-for-my-b-toner-dansco.295169/
Not as purty as some posted here, but hey, the price was right... Here's the rest of the story about that day's outing. The first picture above is actually the finding of a War nickel- I just put it in there for context since it showed the detector. Here's another fun outing that took place just a few doors down from that old house. I've reposted several of those old detecting threads here- you can just search "Digger's Diary Flashback".
I must have been talking about post #146 the 1980-P, since I don't see a 1980-D and I can't edit my old post. Great thread. If I dig out some of my worn and circulated Washingtons I will photo and post them.
